NFL Media's Albert Breer reported Monday that former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark has agreed to terms on a deal with the Redskins, according to a team source. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports it's a one-year contract for Clark, per a source involved in the deal.
The deal ends a long trip through free agency for the 34-year-old veteran, who received interest from the Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets and reportedly met with the Seattle Seahawks. Clark also visited the Redskins earlier this month, but left without a deal.
This will be Clark's second go-around in Washington. He spent the 2004 and 2005 seasons with the Redskins before embarking on a successful eight-year run in Pittsburgh.
It's unclear how much Clark has left in the tank following a subpar 2013, but signing with the Redskins should give him a fighting chance to extend his career at least one more season.
