NFL Fantasy 2024 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Wide receivers for Week 7

It has been a rough go for Hill without Tua Tagovailoa. After three straight games with single-digit fantasy points, Hill caught six of 10 targets for 69 yards in his last game, finishing with 12.9 fantasy points. The volume is what you love to see, and it was also encouraging to watch him produce for the first time with backup QB Tyler Huntley in the lineup. This matchup is too good to get away from, as the Colts have allowed the seventh-most yards and 11th-most fantasy PPG to receivers. They have particularly struggled against the deep ball and receivers lined up out wide. Roll the dice with Hill this week. 

Flowers is on a roll! Last week he caught all nine of his targets for 132 yards and 22.4 fantasy points. The week prior, he had seven catches for 111 yards and 19 fantasy points on 12 targets. He has four games with at least nine targets and has scored 19 or more fantasy points three times. He can build off his success this week against the Bucs, who have allowed the eighth-most yards to receivers. Start Flowers in what could be a high-scoring game. 

McLaurin has long been a favorite of mine. As good as he was in his first five NFL seasons, he never had a QB that could help him reach his full potential. Well, that has changed now that he has Jayden Daniels throwing him the ball. It took the two a bit to get going out the gate, but McLaurin has averaged 18.7 FPPG in his last four games. He has four touchdowns and two 100-yard games in that span. Now he gets the Panthers, who have allowed the third-most touchdowns catches by wide receivers and the sixth-most FPPG to WRs in the last month. Scary Terry has a new nickname -- Must-start McLaurin. 

In four games with Andy Dalton, Johnson is averaging 11 targets, 77 receiving yards and 18 FPPG. He has a touchdown in three of those games and leads the NFL with eight end-zone targets in that span. The volume and production are both elite since the QB change. Now he gets a fantastic matchup against the Commanders, who have allowed five receivers to top 20 fantasy points in six games. They also have given up the sixth-most yards and most touchdown catches to receivers. Keep starting Johnson. 

I have been a Williams stan since he entered the NFL. He was coming off an ACL tear in his rookie campaign and had the beginning of his second year impacted by a suspension and preseason injury. However, in Year 3, he is going off. He has topped 75 yards in all but one game and has three TDs this season. He had one dud performance (in Week 3), but he has scored 14 or more fantasy points in every other game. Now he gets the Vikings, who can play tough defense but have allowed the fifth-most yards and fourth-most FPPG to WRs. The upside is too high to get away from Williams. 

After missing two games with an ankle injury, Addison returned in Week 4 and had just four targets, but he scored a rushing and receiving touchdown. In Week 5, he was held in check fantasy-wise but had eight targets. The volume is what we care about, especially in a matchup like this one. The Lions have allowed the most catches, fourth-most yards and fourth-most FPPG to receivers. This game has the potential to be a high-scoring battle. The floor isn’t super safe, but it’s worth taking the shot and getting Addison into your lineup. 

Pickens has seen a good amount of volume, but it has not translated into a huge fantasy season. He has topped 11 fantasy points in two of six games. He has been held to less than nine in each of the last two contests. Granted, those came with Justin Fields at quarterback, and Russell Wilson may start over Fields for the first time this season in Week 7. I believe that would be an improvement at the position, but Wilson and Pickens still need to develop chemistry together. Plus, the Jets are elite against receivers. They have allowed the fourth-fewest yards and FPPG to the position. Pickens runs just under three-quarters of his routes out wide. He runs 44 percent of his routes from the left side. That is Sauce Gardner territory. Pickens could always catch a deep ball, but if you are able to get away this week, do so. 

Credit to Pittman for battling through a back injury to score 12.5 fantasy points in Week 6. As gusty as that is, it does add risk to him as a fantasy option. A touchdown salvaged his day last week, but he finished with just five targets and 35 yards. Plus, it looks like Anthony Richardson will return from injury to start this week. Pittman scored less than eight fantasy points in each of the first three games with a healthy Richardson. It was the move to Joe Flacco that really elevated him in fantasy. Lastly, the Dolphins have allowed the third-fewest FPPG to WRs this season. Get away if you can. 

This was originally going to be me waving the white flag on Amari Cooper, but after a trade to the Bills, we are so back, baby! So, I’m pivoting to Waddle. While I think Tyreek Hill is worth the gamble, I do not feel the same way about Waddle, who has scored fewer than nine fantasy points in four straight games. Perhaps more concerning than the lack of production is the lack of opportunities. He has averaged just 5.6 targets per game this season. He has not reached 50 yards since Week 1. Even in a good matchup, leave him on the bench. 

Ridley had eight targets and no catches last week. He was clearly frustrated after the loss and maybe a squeaky wheel game is on tap, but I do not want to trust it. Ridley has scored single-digit fantasy points in all but one game. He has not topped three fantasy points in any of his last three games. He has just 14 receiving yards in that span. Plus, the Bills have been very tough on wide receivers, allowing the eighth-fewest FPPG. Get far away from the Titans passing attack right now.
