2022 NFL season, Week 4: Notable injuries, news from Sunday's games

Injuries and news we're monitoring around the league on this Week 4 Sunday:

  • Arizona Cardinals OL Justin Pugh (elbow) did not return versus the Panthers. LB Nick Vigil (hamstring) was ruled out. OL Will Hernandez was ejected for making contact with an official.
  • Buffalo Bills WR Jamison Crowder (ankle) did not return after being labeled doubtful versus the Ravens. WR Isaiah McKenzie was ruled out with a concussion.
  • Carolina Panthers S Jeremy Chinn (hamstring) did not return versus the Cardinals. WR Laviska Shenault (hamstring) did not return after being labeled questionable.
  • Chicago Bears OL Cody Whitehair (knee) was ruled out versus the Giants.
  • Dallas Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis (groin) has been ruled out versus the Commanders.
  • Denver Broncos S P.J. Locke was evaluated for a concussion. RB Javonte Williams (knee) was ruled out and did not return versus the Raiders and is feared to have suffered a serious injury NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. LB Aaron Patrick was evaluated for a concussion. LB Randy Gregory (knee) did not return. Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett did not have an updates on Gregory's status after the game, saying he and Gregory would have MRIs.
  • Detroit Lions WR Quintez Cephus (foot) was ruled out versus the Seahawks. CB Amani Oruwariye did not return with a neck injury.
  • Green Bay Packers S Adrian Amos was ruled out after being evaluated for a concussion.
  • Houston Texans LB Blake Cashman is in concussion protocol, head coach Lovie Smith said after the game versus the Chargers.
  • Indianapolis Colts LB Shaquille Leonard was ruled out versus the Titans after suffering a concussion after colliding with a teammate. After having his ankle rolled up, RB Jonathan Taylor will have tests soon to determine whether there is any major damage, per NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
  • Jacksonville Jaguars DE Folorunso Fatukasi (quad) was ruled out versus the Eagles.
  • Las Vegas Raiders LB Denzel Perryman was ruled out after being evaluated for a concussion.
  • Minnesota Vikings safety Lewis Cine has a lower leg fracture, coach Kevin O'Connell told reporters. The rookie first-round pick was carted off the field after suffering what looked like a serious leg injury in the first quarter versus the Saints in London, and subsequently ruled out. Cine's left leg was stabilized in an air cast as he was immediately taken to a local hospital, per NFL Network's Jamie Erdahl. He'll be having surgery on his leg in London before heading back to Minnesota, per O'Connell.
  • New England Patriots QB Brian Hoyer did not return against the Packers after suffering a head injury in the first quarter. Rookie Bailey Zappe replaced Hoyer at QB. TE Jonnu Smith (ankle) was ruled out.
  • New York Giants QB Tyrod Taylor has a concussion and is in the protocol. QB Daniel Jones returned to the game after Taylor's injury after suffering his own ankle injury earlier in the second half. Jones' ankle injury could cause issues for the Giants game versus the Packers next Sunday in London, especially if Taylor is unable to clear the concussion protocol in time. Of his status for the game, Jones said "I'll listen to the doctors and trainers, take their advice and go from there. I'm going to do everything that I can to play, for sure." G Mark Glowinski (ankle) did not return. S Julian Love was ruled out after being evaluated for a concussion. CB Aaron Robinson (knee) was ruled out. DL Henry Mondeaux (ankle) did not return. WR Kenny Golladay (knee) did not return. OT Evan Neal (neck) did not return.
  • New York Jets T Max Mitchell (knee) was ruled out versus the Steelers.
  • Philadelphia Eagles CB Darius Slay (forearm) did not return after being labeled as questionable versus the Jaguars. T Jordan Mailata (shoulder) also did not return, and said after the game that he's getting an MRI to get definitive answers on his injury. LB Patrick Johnson was ruled out after being evaluated for a head injury. LB Kyron Johnson did not return after being evaluated for a head injury. G Isaac Seumalo (ankle) did not return.
  • Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett came in at the start of the third quarter, replacing starter Mitch Trubisky. S Terrell Edmunds is in concussion protocol and was ruled out versus the Jets. S Minkah Fitzpatrick is getting his knee evaluated, head coach Mike Tomlin said after the game.
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate was ruled out in the second half Sunday night with a concussion. DBs Logan Ryan (foot) and Carlton Davis (stinger) also sustained injuries Sunday night and did not return.
  • Tennessee Titans WR Treylon Burks (foot) was ruled out versus the Colts.
  • Washington Commanders LB Milo Eifler (hamstring) was ruled out versus the Cowboys. S Percy Butler suffered a quad injury.
