Aaron Rodgers divulges two things he's looking for in next team

The quarterback carousel is set to gain RPMs as we spin toward the NFL Scouting Combine next week. As the ride gains steam, Aaron Rodgers is likely to play a wild-card role.

If the former four-time NFL MVP wishes to continue his career upon his expected release from New York, he'll need to find a club willing to give him a shot. But what is Rodgers looking for in a new club?

TMZ tracked down the 41-year-old, who seemed decidedly chipper following a workout, and asked Rodgers what factors he's taking into consideration.

"If they want you," Rodgers responded.

Pressed for anything else he's looking for, the former Cal QB said: "If they got a good team."

It's not an unusual wish list, but it could be difficult to fill.

Are teams clamoring for an aging QB whose baggage carries more than just a glut of MVP trophies?

Rodgers' play was up and down in 2024, with flashes of his classic arm being overshadowed by a less mobile QB who wanted to avoid hits at all costs. He didn't elevate the rest of the Jets offense as he'd done for much of his career in Green Bay. Perhaps a club could convince itself that as he gets further away from the 2023 Achilles injury, he could get close to his Pro Bowl form. But at what cost?

There is also the fact that most teams that need a quarterback aren't "good." There are a couple that have talent, but most with questions under center aren't championship-ready.

If he's to play in a 21st season, Rodgers might have to wait until some of the younger signal-callers grab their seats first. If that's the case, would said team really "want you," or are they just settling for options C or D?
