As Best goes on IR, Brown gets another shot with Lions

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions signed running back Aaron Brown on Monday after putting Jahvid Best on season-ending injured reserve.

The Lions released Brown in September after they claimed running back Keiland Williams off waivers from the Washington Redskins.

Detroit drafted Brown in the sixth round in 2009 out of TCU. He started twice and played in 15 games as a rookie, running for 131 yards and catching nine passes for 84 yards and one touchdown. Brown played in six games last season.

Best was limited to six games this season because he had a second concussion this year on Oct. 16 against the San Francisco 49ers.
