When the Denver Broncos kick off training camp practices on Thursday, all rookies will be signed and accounted for.
Second-round quarterback Drew Lock agreed to terms with Denver on his rookie deal on Wednesday, a source told NFL Network's James Palmer. The rookie QB was the last member of the Broncos' 2019 draft class to sign after guard Dalton Risner inked his deal on Tuesday. The team later confirmed the signing.
As with all rookie deals, Lock's contract will be for four years.
Lock's contract will not include a "quarterback premium," Palmer added. The QB's representation had reportedly asked in negotiations for more guaranteed money than his second-round slot would otherwise receive. Palmer reported that Denver did not budge on those requests.
Denver's rookies and veterans reported for training camp on Wednesday. Before Lock's signing was announced, Broncos general manager John Elway told reporters "we'll see" if the QB would show up on Thursday for Denver's first practice; Lock was reported to be a potential holdout if he was not signed by the start of training camp. There's no need to wonder any longer.
The fourth quarterback taken in the 2019 draft, Lock fell to the Broncos at No. 42 in the second round. He will get snaps behind presumptive starting quarterback Joe Flacco in training camp. Denver also has Kevin Hogan and fellow rookie Brett Rypien in its QB room.
