Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant made the start in Sunday's home game against the Detroit Lions.
Bryant made an immediate contribution, hauling in a 25-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and an eight-yard TD pass early in the second quarter.
Bryant has been slowed since Week 1 with a deep thigh bruise. He participated in the team's walkthrough practice Saturday and had been listed as questionable.
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said wide receiver Laurent Robinson would line up opposite Bryant when they open in "certain personnel groups," making him the No. 2 wideout.
Wide receiver Miles Austin previously had been ruled out with a hamstring injury, but he's expected back following the Cowboys' Week 5 bye.
The Cowboys also are without starting right defensive end Jason Hatcher on Sunday because of a calf injury. Marcus Spears took over in the starting spot.
The Lions are without linebacker Justin Durant, their leading tackler, because of a concussion. Bobby Carpenter, a former first-round draft pick by the Cowboys, replaced Durant in the starting lineup.
