Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel's first two years in South Beach has prompted Miami to want more.
The Dolphins signed McDaniel to a multi-year contract extension, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero confirmed on Friday, per a source with knowledge of the deal.

McDaniel initially inked a four-year contract in Miami in 2022, putting him under contract through 2025 after 11 years working alongside Kyle Shanahan, including one year as the San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator. The coach promised to bring a revved-up offense to Miami.
He delivered on that deal through two seasons.
In 2022, his offense ranked sixth in yards and 11th in points. Last season, Miami zoomed up the charts, ranking first in yards and second in points. Miami hadn't ranked inside the top 10 in either category since 2001. The bigger concern has been on the defensive side of the ball, where the club is on its third defensive coordinator in as many seasons, with Anthony Weaver taking over for Vic Fangio in 2024.
Under McDaniel's leadership, Miami made back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time since 2000-2001.
The 41-year-old head coach has displayed a mind-meld with GM Chris Grier, and the organization has been in lock-step with some of their most significant moves, including the recent big-money extension for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
With McDaniel and the key on-field pieces locked in for the foreseeable future, the focus is on snapping the 24-year playoff-win drought.
