Fred Jackson wants to continue NFL career in 2016

Don't count running back Fred Jackson among the NFL players retiring this offseason.

Having turned 35 years old over the weekend, Jackson wants to continue his career in 2016, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday, via a person close to the nine-year veteran.

Jackson is a free agent after hauling in 32 passes for 257 yards and two touchdowns in a third-down role for the Seahawks in 2015.

In the twilight of his career, Jackson is no longer a viable running threat. He can still help a team, however, as a pass-catching specialist, pass protector and team leader.
