- ESPN reported that Michael Sam, who is the only openly gay player to be drafted in the NFL, said during a Q&A in Dallas that there are many gay players in the league who have not come out.
- NFL.com reported that offensive lineman Jonathan Martin, who was the focus of locker room harassment and a subsequent league investigation while with the Miami Dolphins in 2013, was released Thursday by the San Francisco 49ers.
