The Giants cut wide receiver Brandon Stokley with an injury settlement Tuesday, the New York Daily News reported.
Stokley was signed to help the Giants offset the loss of slot receiver Steve Smith, who signed a free-agent deal with the Philadelphia Eagles before the season. Stokley made only one catch in two games before suffering a strained quad.
To fill Stokley's roster spot, the Giants signed former Indianapolis Colts cornerback Justin Tryon, who was cut last week.
The Giants also promoted center Jim Cordle off their practice squad Tuesday, according to the Daily News. Starting center David Baas hurt his neck during the Giants' 31-27 victory at Arizona on Sunday, and the team is concerned about his ability to play this weekend against the Seattle Seahawks.
