It's remarkable to see what the injury-ravaged Steelers have accomplished this season.
Despite losing star running back Le'Veon Bell and seeing Ben Roethlisberger bop in and out of the lineup with injuries, Pittsburgh has a chance to carve out a 6-4 record heading into the bye with a win on Sunday over the fading Browns.
For that to happen, backup Landry Jones must pull out his first victory as an NFL starter.
"We have to rally around Landry," said defensive lineman Cam Heyward, per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
We see Jones as the better fit for this offense after watching the coaching staff hand him more of the playbook than Mike Vick ever saw.
After Big Ben went down, Jones rewarded that faith on Sunday with a seven-play, 79-yard drive capped by Chris Boswell's game-winning field goal to bury Oakland 38-35. That march saw Jones seek out star wideout Antonio Brown for a 57-yard catch and run.
It was Vick who struggled to make Brown part of the mix, while Jones has done a better job of using his pass-catchers, with a trio of touchdown lobs this year to Martavis Bryant.
"I love the mentality of coach Tomlin and all our coaches," Jones said. "We're going to play to win, regardless of who is in there. It's kind of the next-man-up mentality."
