LeSean McCoy to be inducted into Eagles' Hall of Fame in Week 9 vs. Jaguars

LeSean McCoy is headed into the Philadelphia Eagles' Hall of Fame during the 2024 season.

The team announced on Saturday that it will officially induct McCoy into the Eagles' Hall of Fame during halftime of its Week 9 Sunday night game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Nov. 3.

"LeSean was an incredibly gifted player who always approached the game with great joy and enthusiasm," Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said in a team statement. "His elusiveness as a dual-threat back, coupled with his uncanny ability to make breathtaking plays, captivated everyone who had the privilege of watching him compete. His energy was contagious, but more importantly, it was his competitive spirit and commitment to being a great teammate that truly shaped his legacy as one of our league's all-time greats. We look forward to celebrating LeSean's remarkable career when he is rightfully enshrined in the Eagles Hall of Fame on November 3."

McCoy, who was a second-round pick by the Eagles in the 2009 draft, spent the first six seasons of his career in Philadelphia. With the Eagles, McCoy became the franchise's all-time rushing yards leader with 6,792 yards and earned three Pro Bowl honors, including two first-team All-Pro selections. McCoy had one of the most iconic snow game performances in 2013, as he set the Eagles' single-game rushing record with 217 yards against the Detroit Lions in what became known as the "Snow Bowl."

After McCoy's tenure ended in Philly, the veteran RB played four seasons with the Buffalo Bills, where he accumulated three Pro Bowl nods. McCoy's last two seasons in the NFL resulted in him being part of two Super Bowl-winning teams with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019 and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020, respectively.

Over the course of his 12-year career in the NFL, McCoy generated 11,102 rushing yards and 73 touchdowns. He also had 518 catches for 3,898 receiving yards and 16 receiving TDs before he retired from the NFL following the 2020 season.

McCoy will now forever be remembered for his impact when the Eagles honor him later this season.
