Aaron Rodgers' struggles during the Green Bay Packers' 1-4 skid are real.
The All-Universe quarterback has gone five straight games with a passer rating below 100.0, the longest slump of his career. He's averaging 6.88 yards per attempt, 24th in the NFL and lowest in his career as a starter (previous low was 7.53 in 2008, first season as starter). His 60.5 completion percentage is also the lowest of his career and ranks 23rd among 31 qualifying quarterbacks this season.
The last six weeks have been even more dismal.
Despite the recent poor play, the Detroit Lions players are expecting the All-Pro version tonight at Ford Field.
"It's Aaron Rodgers, bro," Lions safety Glover Quin said, dismissing the recent struggles, via the Detroit Free Press.
The cornucopia of reasons behind the Packers' problems includes drop-prone receivers, a limp run game, no Jordy Nelson, suspect play-calling and lack of chemistry between the receivers and Rodgers.
"Probably too much," Lang said. "I know he's a guy, it's hard to keep the ball out of his hands just because of the type of player he is. But last week, I feel like we probably should've taken some pressure off of him in that game."
With a resurgent Eddie Lacy the past two weeks, the Packers could take the air out of the ball Thursday night to try and release some of the pressure on Rodgers.
Tonight's game against Detroit is huge for playoff positioning for the Packers. Getting swept by the Lions for the first time since 1991 would be a serious stinger for Green Bay.
Then again, the Pack still has Rodgers, bro.
