While last Thursday's debate between the NFL and NFL Players Association seems to have died down, they still don't have an agreement for the implementation of testing for human growth hormone. The final stumbling block appears to be NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's role in the appeals process for tests.
NFL.com's Albert Breer reported Tuesday that time is running out for all other aspects of the agreement because a key point is that testing must begin during the preseason -- and the preseason ends Thursday.
Birch said testing could happen during the middle of the season, but it would take an overhaul of the agreement. As of Tuesday, though, no agreement appeared imminent.
