Another tight end is off the market.
The Washington Redskins re-signed Niles Paul on Friday, the team announced. The contract is for three years and worth up to $10 million, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, via a source informed of the deal.
A converted wide receiver, Paul posted career highs across the board with 39 receptions, 507 yards and one touchdown in 2014. With starter Jordan Reed sidelined, Paul cleared 50 yards in five of the first seven games before disappearing in the final two months of the season.
Paul offers premium insurance for Reed, who has missed 12 games due to concussions and severe hamstring pulls since the Redskins drafted him in 2013.
