Packers re-sign OLB Erik Walden

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - The Green Bay Packers have re-signed outside linebacker Erik Walden.

Walden appeared in 16 games for the Packers last season, with 15 starts. He had three sacks, two passes defensed and a fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown. He originally signed with the Packers as a free agent in October 2010 and went on to play in nine games with two starts that season, along with another three starts in the postseason.

In February, Walden reached a deferred judgment agreement to resolve a disorderly conduct-domestic abuse charge without pleading guilty. Walden spent last Thanksgiving weekend in jail after a dispute with his girlfriend.

Walden agreed to perform 50 hours of community service and continue counseling.
