- The San Jose Mercury News reported that nearby Menlo High School is teaching the rugby-style tackling method professed by Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll in his answer to Heads Up tackling.
- USA Football's Heads Up Football blog looked at one Houston youth football league that has used the program to teach other skills, including creating a food drive and a toy drive, talking to league commissioner Ed Hart.
- The Farmington (New Mexico) Daily Times featured the Young American Football League championship game, an event that officials say has been helped by the Heads Up Football program. The Daily Times talked to Russ Benson, YAFL treasurer and Mesa View Middle School football coach.
