Quick Take: Bears stifle struggling Chiefs

It was over when ...
An apparent flea-flicker touchdown pass from Kansas City's Damon Huard to Dwayne Bowe early in the fourth quarter was called back because of an illegal shift penalty on running back Michael Bennett. Instead of the game being 20-17, the score remained 20-10 and the drive finished with Dave Rayner's field goal attempt being blocked, effectively ending the Chiefs' chances.

Game balls
One year after establishing himself as one of the most electrifying players in the league, Bears returner Devin Hester was spectacular again, taking one punt back 73 yards for a touchdown and accumulating 143 punt return yards. He brought a second punt back for a touchdown as well, but it was nullified because of a holding penalty against Chicago's Rod Wilson.

Key stat
Facing a Pro Bowl running back for the second straight week, the Bears once again rose to the challenge, holding Chiefs rusher Larry Johnson to just 55 yards on 16 carries. They held the Chargers' LaDainian Tomlinson to only 25 yards on 17 carries last week.

Noteworthy
Bears running back Cedric Benson had his second career 100-yard rushing performance, totaling 101 yards on 24 carries.
