Quick Take: Texans knock off Cowboys

It was over when
Texans receiver Jacoby Jones took the Cowboys first punt back 91 yards for a touchdown. It was the second straight week Jones returned a punt for a touchdown; he brought one back 80 yards in last week's win over Arizona. Houston's David Anderson had a 17-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth-quarter to thwart a modest Cowboys comeback attempt.

Game balls
Houston quarterback Matt Schaub was on target in his third preseason start, completing 12-of-16 passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns. For the Cowboys, reserve receiver Sam Hurd made the most of his time on the field, catching four passes for 68 yards.

Key stat
Dallas surrendered 152 yards on the ground to the Texans. Houston starter Ahman Green accounted for 65 of those yards on eight carries.

Noteworthy
The Cowboys kicking battle tilted towards rookie Nick Folk as he connected on his only field goal attempt and hit his extra point try. Veteran Martin Grammatica sliced his extra point try wide right.
