OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - The Oakland Raiders have signed defensive end Dave Tollefson, the latest New York Giants free agent to land in the Bay Area this offseason.
The Raiders announced Tollefson's signing Saturday. The 29-year-old had a career-high five sacks last season while playing in a reserve role for the Super Bowl champion Giants.
Tollefson was drafted by new Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie in 2006, when McKenzie oversaw scouting for the Green Bay Packers. He also was on Oakland's practice squad in 2007.
Tollefson is the third notable Giants player to move to the Bay Area recently. Running back Brandon Jacobs and wide receiver Mario Manningham signed with the San Francisco 49ers previously.
