Former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Leon Hall is one of the most recognizable names languishing on the open market one month removed from the start of free agency.
The nine-year veteran visited the Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys in mid-March, but has yet to sign.
As it turns out, the delay in finding a new landing spot is likely connected to medical concerns.
In a recent interview with James Rapien of WCKY in Cincinnati, Bengals color analyst Dave Lapham revealed that Hall underwent back surgery after the season to repair a disc injury that required epidurals late in the year.
Hall, 31, has also undergone two Achilles' tendon reconstructions since entering the league 2007.
Although Hall is limited to the slot at this stage of his career, he deserves credit for holding his own last season while playing through a painful injury.
Along with Arizona and Dallas, Hall could draw interest from Cincinnati and Miami once he fully recovers from back surgery and lowers his asking price.
Per Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, though, the sticking point has been money. Hall wants to cash in on his final shot at a big contract while the Dolphins are understandably content to play the waiting game.
