The Green Bay Packers and the agent for Houston Texans center Chris Myers had a meeting about the soon-to-be free agent, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Sunday, citing a knowledgeable source.
Current Packers center Scott Wells also is set to become a free agent. The newspaper reported the team hasn't made progress in its discussions with Wells, prompting the meeting with Myers' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, at the NFL Scouting Combine.
The free-agency period begins March 13.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy recently told the Journal Sentinel that he doesn't "know anything" about the team's discussions with Wells but is "hoping Scott can be back, I really am. Why wouldn't he come back?"
Myers, who will turn 31 in September, has been the Texans' starting center for the past four seasons. He entered the league with the Denver Broncos in 2005 and became a starter in 2007.

Texans coach Gary Kubiak and general manager Rick Smith have expressed interest in retaining Myers, according to the team's official website.
"Chris is the leader of the group," Kubiak told the site. "He makes all the calls. He's been exceptional for us."
At least one member of the Packers wants Wells back. After the team agreed to a two-year deal with tight end Jermichael Finley, offensive guard T.J. Langcalled for Wells to return via Twitter.
"Glad to hear the news about @JermichaelF88.. now let's her (sic) Scott Wells back!" Lang tweeted.
