Chip Kelly insisted earlier this week he wants Sam Bradford in Philadelphia for the long term.
If Bradford wants a marriage with the Eagles, he's putting any proposal on hold.
"Obviously, it's great to hear those things, but I don't think it really means a whole lot, and it's not going to change the way I approach things," Bradford said, via the Philly Voice. "I'm sure I'll pay more attention to that stuff in the offseason."
Bradford then parried several prods about his future.
"That's a couple months away," he said when asked if he was looking forward to testing the free-agent market. "I'm really just worried about these next three weeks, obviously this week against Arizona."
And the obligatory "do you like it here?" question about Philadelphia:
"I do like it here. Obviously it's a lot different than anywhere I've ever been before. But you know what? I really do enjoy it here," he said.
Bradford is in the final year of his massive rookie contract. The Eagles could always wield the franchise tag if they want to pay him more than $20 million for one season.
The coyness from Bradford makes perfect business sense. In a market starved of quarterbacks, there will be plenty of suitors for Bradford, regardless of his middling season. Why paint himself into a corner fawning over Chip and Philadelphia?
Gregg Rosenthal ranked Bradford the No. 13 overall free agent heading into the offseason. Perhaps more important to Bradford's agent, he's also the top quarterback on the list.
