Steelers QB Russell Wilson (calf) questionable vs. Chargers

It's the same story for the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3 as it was in Week 2.

With Justin Fields having prepared all week to start, Russell Wilson is questionable to play for the Steelers on Sunday against the visiting Los Angeles Chargers.

It's likely Fields will start, but Wilson, who's been dealing with a calf strain since training camp, still has a chance to be active.

Having won the starting job in the preseason, Wilson has yet to play for the Steelers, while Fields has filled in admirably. Through two games, Fields has completed 30 of 43 passes for 273 yards, a touchdown and, perhaps most importantly, no interceptions.

Fields, who's also rushed for 84 yards, has game-breaking ability, but so far has been a game manager, which is fine and dandy for the Steelers, whose T.J. Watt-led defense has allowed 16 total points so far.

Wilson's been a limited practice participant, but he's clearly dealing with an unpredictable calf strain that's holding him back while Fields and Co. move on.

The former Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos starter could well be active on Sunday, but it seems unlikely he'll be handed the starting reins after Fields has turned in another full week of practice with the ones.

Pittsburgh (2-0) begins its undefeated battle against visiting Los Angeles (2-0) at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
