Today marks the final day for clubs to decide on the fifth-year options for 2021 first-round picks.
The window opened on Jan. 8.
Thus far, 16 of 32 first-rounders have had their fifth-year contracts picked up. Most are of the no-brainer variety, like Trevor Lawrence, Ja’Marr Chase, Micah Parsons and etc. Other players have already inked contract extensions, which included picking up the fifth year as part of the pact -- Penei Sewell, DeVonta Smith. Many that will be declined come with players who have moved on from their original teams, like Zach Wilson or Trey Lance.
Heading into deadline day, the two biggest question marks left are Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris and Indianapolis Colts pass rusher Kwity Paye. We'll find out which way their clubs will go in the next several hours.
