Bengals, kicker Evan McPherson agree to 3-year, $16.5M extension

Shooter McPherson got paid.

The Cincinnati Bengals agreed to terms with kicker Evan McPherson on a three-year contract extension, NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo reported on Friday.

The pact is worth $16.5 million and includes $10 million in new money in the deal's first year.

McPherson was entering the final year of his rookie contract, set to earn $1.055 million in base salary. Now he's locked in through the 2027 season.

A fifth-round pick out of Florida in 2021, McPherson has been money since entering the NFL. He's made 78 of 93 total field goal attempts, including just one miss inside 40 yards, and 126 of 132 on point-after tries. The Bengals booter has gone 21-of-28 from 50-plus yards with a career-long of 59.

The kicker has been spectacular in the postseason. In seven games, he's made all 19 of his field goal attempts, including 3 of 3 from 50-plus yards.

With McPherson's extension done, the Bengals have one massive deal left to ink before the regular season arrives: Ja'Marr Chase.
