15 for '15: Best individual matchups
CFB 24/7's "15 for '15" series concludes today. While we have taken you on a journey that includes looks at, among other things, the best fight songs, the strongest players and the quarterbacks with the strongest arms, we finish up with what we're all about: an in-depth look at players.
Thus, the final "15 for '15" is the top individual matchups of the season. Most of these games will be worth watching because of the teams -- and the stakes -- involved. But there also will be some must-watch individual matchups. When stars go against other stars, it's must-see TV.

When: Sept. 12, at Auburn
The skinny: Hough (5-foot-10, 180 pounds), a senior who will be a four-year starter, might be the best cornerback in the FCS ranks; he was a second-team FCS All-American selection last season for Jacksonville State, which is expected to be in the top 10 of every FCS preseason poll, and is the only defensive back among the top eight who is returning this fall. Hough will get a chance to impress scouts when he goes against Williams, who is one of the best receivers in the nation. Williams (6-2, 224) has good size and is both fast and physical. A strong game from Hough in this outing means you'll be hearing his name a lot throughout the fall.

When: Oct. 17, at USC.
The skinny: Fuller quietly put together a big season in 2014, with 76 receptions for 1,094 yards and 15 TDs. Jackson had an excellent true freshman season last fall and should be the best corner in the Pac-12 this fall.

When: Nov. 21, at Oklahoma State.
The skinny: Ogbah is one of the best big-play defenders in the nation, though seemingly few have noticed. He had 11 sacks and 17.5 tackles for loss last season. Drango is one of the most-hyped offensive linemen in the nation. Ogbah had one sack vs. Baylor last season.

When: Oct. 3, at Clemson.
The skinny: The athletic Stanley might be the best tackle in the nation, and Lawson should provide one of his toughest tests of the season. Lawson has been a reserve the past two seasons but still has 7.5 career sacks; he is expected to be Clemson's best sack man -- and one of the best in the ACC -- this season.

When: Nov. 14, at South Carolina.
The skinny: Hargreaves could be the top cornerback in the nation this season; at the least, he's one of the top three. Cooper is underrated nationally and is one of the SEC's best big-play threats.

When: Nov. 28, at USC.
The skinny: Tuerk might be the best center in the nation; Clark should be one of the best nose tackles. That both are Southern California natives and play for the archrival will spice things up even more.

When: Oct. 3, in Arlington, Texas.
The skinny: Clark is one of the more underrated offensive linemen nationally; Oakman, on the other hand, might be a bit overhyped. Regardless, this is a grown-man matchup that will be worth watching. Oakman had a sack and three tackles for loss against the Red Raiders last season.

When: Oct. 24, at Alabama.
The skinny: Both started as true freshmen last season, and both are expected to challenge for All-SEC honors -- and even All-America honors -- this season. In addition to being a solid pass rusher, Barnett held up well against the run in 2014. Thus, Robinson will both need to protect the passer and clear Barnett out of the way on running plays.

When: Nov. 7, at Clemson.
The skinny: Ramsey is another who will be in the mix to be called the nation's best cornerback; he played safety last season, but is returning to his natural position this fall. Scott (above) and Williams are the best receiving duo in the ACC and one of the top three tandems in the nation. Ramsey likely will see time against both in this game, which should end up determining the ACC Atlantic Division title.

When: Sept. 12, at Michigan State.
The skinny: Johnstone would've been the Ducks' best offensive lineman last season, but he suffered a torn ACL during summer camp and missed the season. Jake Fisher proved an able fill-in and was drafted in the second round in May, but Johnstone's return is huge for the Ducks. He'll get an early-season test from Calhoun, who is one of the best defensive ends in the nation. Calhoun is stout against the run and also provides a consistent pass rush.

When: Sept. 7, at Virginia Tech.
The skinny: The jet-quick Nicolas feasted against Ohio State last season, racking up two sacks and three tackles for loss in the Hokies' upset of the Buckeyes. On a team filled with star players, Decker frequently is overlooked. He shouldn't be; he is the one of the top offensive tackles nationally and helps make the Buckeyes' high-powered offense go.

When: Oct. 3, at Georgia.
The skinny: For a big man, Pyke (6-6, 310) is incredibly athletic. Consider: Pyke, who is from Baltimore, was a national top-10 lacrosse recruit as a high school junior. Seriously. In this one, he'll need to use all his athleticism and all his strength to keep Robinson from controlling the middle of the line. It can be difficult to focus on interior-line play, but make sure you pay attention to this matchup.

When: Oct. 3, at Virginia Tech.
The skinny: Fuller is the third guy who will be in the running in the "best cornerback in the nation" contest. Boyd, meanwhile, is one of the best wide receivers nationally; he's smooth, fast and athletic. In short, this should be an epic matchup. Boyd had six receptions for 86 yards and a TD against the Hokies last season.

When: Oct. 24, at Mississippi.
The skinny: Tunsil -- if he's eligible for the 2015 season -- might be the best tackle in the nation; at the least, he's one of the top three. Garrett had a strong true freshman campaign last season; he is an excellent athlete with a quick burst and a high ceiling -- in fact, think of a cathedral ceiling -- as a pass rusher. Garrett had a sack against the Rebels last season.

When: Nov. 21, at Ohio State.
The skinny: Conklin is another in the mix to be considered the best tackle nationally. In this matchup, he'll be going against the guy generally considered the best end in the country -- and a guy who might be the best player, regardless of position. Bosa has four tackles, a sack and two tackles for loss in two career games against the Spartans. This will be the most important individual matchup in a game that almost certainly will determine the Big Ten East Division title.
