Waiver Wire
2018 Week 16 fantasy football waiver-wire targets
If you're reading this, you've likely survived and advanced to championship week. If you're still fighting for jelly beans in the loser's bracket, let's hope the bronze medal fits you well. Whatever brings you in, thanks for reading along all season. It's been a great one. Now, let's hit the Week 16 wire. It's a light waiver week outside of a few obvious adds:

At press time, early reports are not clear on the severity of Aaron Jones' (knee) injury. After the game, Jones mentioned he believes he sprained his MCL again. Whatever the case may be, Jamaal Williams is the top add for Week 16 unless Damien Williams is floating on your league wire. Obviously, Jamaal Williams would rarely leave the field in Week 16 against the Jets if Jones sits out. Williams played on 87 percent of Packers snaps after Jones exited after seven plays last week.

Without Isaiah Crowell (foot; IR) over the last two weeks, McGuire has touched the rock 20 and 21 times and rolled up two scores and 152 yards from scrimmage. As the Jets lead back without Crowell in the lineup, McGuire has played on 75 percent of New York's snaps and handled 9-of-12 possible carries inside of the red-zone. McGuire will be on the RB2 borderline in Week 16 as a workhorse piece against a Packers side that is giving up the 11th-most PPR points per touch to running backs.

As the injuries have mounted in Buffalo, speedy rookie Robert Foster continues to hit ceiling days. Over the last five weeks, Foster has receiving lines of 3/105, 2/94/1, 1/27, 7/104, and 4/108. In fact, Foster (6) trails only T.Y. Hilton (9) and Tyreek Hill (7) in gains of 20-plus yards in this span. Next week, Foster gets a neutral draw against the Patriots.

Kalen Ballage's breakout party was just the icing on the cake in a weird Dolphins-Vikings contest. Miami only earned 193 total yards on offense... of which, Ballage had 123. While Frank Gore (ankle/foot) missed most of the game, Ballage led the Dolphins in carries (12) while Kenyan Drake recorded one single tote. Who knows why Drake is so far down in Adam Gase's doghouse. Regardless, Ballage is an RB3 add in a murky Miami backfield. Miami hosts Jacksonville next week.

Without Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles; IR) over the last two weeks, Tim Patrick leads the Broncos receiver corps in receiving yards (150) as the team has turned to a WR by committee. DaeSean Hamilton (20) and Patrick (18) are close in targets while Courtland Sutton (11) is a fairly distant third in this span. Notably, Patrick's 3.9 yards of separation leads their wideouts per Next Gen Stats. Patrick will be on the WR4 radar with a date against the Raiders next.

Over the last two weeks, Hamilton leads the Broncos in targets (20) and routes run (92) with Sanders on the shelf. Per Next Gen Stats, Hamilton has aligned out of the slot on 55 percent of his routes -- taking Sanders' place as the Broncos interior receiver. Case Keenum's last three main targets on his respective teams -- Tavon Austin, Austin Thielen, and Sanders -- all have run over 50 percent of their routes from the slot. Hamilton should rip the Raiders shaky interior in Week 16.

Causing the fantasy football world to collectively hold their breath for a few moments, Todd Gurley (knee) missed snaps early in the third-quarter of the Rams Sunday Night battle against the Eagles. He eventually returned and promptly led fantasy owners to another 30-plus point outing. Still, the rookie Kelly is worth a stash as Gurley has suffered a few nicks and bruises over the last few weeks. Notably, former No. 2 back Malcolm Brown (collarbone) is on IR.

Fresh off blanking the Giants at home, the Titans get an equally inept Redskins pass offense next. Tennessee promptly held the Odell Beckham-less Giants to just 229 yards passing as Eli Manning threw an interception and absorbed three sacks in the onslaught. The injury-ravaged Redskins beat the Jags, but Josh Johnson was held to a measly 6.0 YPA and he absorbed three sacks in the process. Washington now has to travel to Nashville for a back-to-back AFC South road date. The Titans are the top streaming option for championship week.

The Colts defense was the shock of the Week 15 slate, holding the relatively hot Cowboys' attack to zero points on a day where Dak Prescott threw one interception and took 3 sacks. Indy has been far from the fantasy radar all year -- they were the 21st-highest scoring defense heading into last week -- but they get the Giants at home in Week 16. The Colts are low-owned on NFL.com and they will be on the top-12 borderline for D/ST streamers.
