Waiver Wire
Fantasy Waiver Wire - Week 17
The waiver wire is one of the most important keys to finding success in the world of fantasy football. Each week, I'll offer up 10 players you need to target off the free-agent market as you look to reach your ultimate goal -- winning a league championship!

Stewart has been on this list for several weeks, but he's still a free agent in over 60 percent of NFL.com leagues. That's a surprise when you consider that he's scored 11 or more fantasy points in three of his last four games. That includes a season-best 18.9 fantasy points with 122 rushing yards and one touchdown in a win over the Cleveland Browns. Stewart faces Atlanta's bad run defense next.

Asiata has re-established himself as the lead running back in Minnesota, and he's proven it in the stat sheets. In Week 16, the veteran out of Utah rushed the ball 16 times for 56 yards with two touchdowns and scored an impressive 21.7 fantasy points in a loss to the Miami Dolphins. Asiata has now scored three rushing touchdowns and a combined 36.3 fantasy points in his last two games overall.

The Falcons can win the NFC South with a win over the Panthers in Week 17, and there's a chance their offense could be without Steven Jackson (quadriceps) in the contest. That sort of scenario would mean a bigger role for Freeman, who rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown in Jackson's absence last week. Freeman would be a potential flex starter in a best-case scenario in that enormous contest.

You might not know it, but Bridgewater has been putting up some nice fantasy totals in recent weeks. In fact, he's scored 15-plus fantasy points in three straight games and four of his last five overall. That includes a two-touchdown, 17.66-fantasy point performance in a loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 16. Bridgewater also has a great matchup against the Chicago Bears up next on the slate.

When a running back has a matchup against the Tennessee Titans, he has a sudden increase in fantasy value. As a result, that makes Herron a nice sleeper across the board as the Colts take on the Titans in Week 17. While he continues to share the workload with Trent Richardson, Herron has still been the better of the two runners from a fantasy perspective in recent weeks. He's a viable Week 17 starter if you're still alive.

Royal hasn't been what you would call a consistent fantasy performer, but he can put up good numbers when given a chance. That was the case in Week 16, as the veteran posted 94 yards, one touchdown and 15.4 fantasy points in the absence of wideout Keenan Allen (ankle, collarbone). With Allen out of action once again, Royal is well worth a look off the waiver wire for a matchup versus the Chiefs.

I prefer Royal of the two Chargers wide receivers, but Floyd can be a fantasy asset as well in the absence of Allen. He's scored a touchdown in two of his last three contests, and in those games he scored at least 11 fantasy points. Furthermore, you can argue that Floyd has a better rapport than Royal with Philip Rivers. Regardless, both players have waiver-wire appeal if you're still active.

The Cowboys have clinched the NFC East and a postseason berth, so there's a chance that coach Jason Garrett could rest his starters against the Washington Redskins next week. That includes DeMarco Murray, who played in Week 16 despite having surgery on his hand earlier in the week. Should this scenario come to fruition, Randle would figure to see plenty of carries in the regular-season finale.

Nicks' numbers didn't pop off the page in Week 16, but he still figures to be more involved in the Colts pass attack as long as T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) is out of action. And when you consider that the team has nothing to gain in Week 17, it wouldn't shock me to see them sit Hilton again so he's healthier for the postseason. If that happens, Nicks could have some value against the Titans.

Beasley isn't the sexiest name in fantasy football, but he has been more productive in recent weeks. In fact, he's scored a touchdown in three of his last five games (four total) including a score in Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts. Beasley is a deep-league choice to be certain, but he should see his share of targets against a Washington defense that has struggled against wide receivers.
