Sure, there are a lot of "dead" fantasy football leagues out there, but Vereen should still be owned in more than just over 60 percent of NFL.com formats. Vereen, who is a PPR superstar, has seen his fantasy points rise in each of the last three weeks in standard scoring leagues too.

I need you all to do some homework on this one -- if McCown remains the top quarterback in Chicago for Week 14, he'll be a solid option for owners in what is a very favorable matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. He's been on fire, averaging over 20 fantasy points in his last two starts. If Jay Cutler (17.2 percent) is able to return from an injured ankle, though, he would be then be the preferred option off the waiver wire.

Now the starting running back for Indianapolis, Brown has moved past Trent Richardson both on the Colts depth chart and in fantasy leagues. The veteran out of Connecticut recorded 12.4 fantasy points against the Tennessee Titans and has now scored double digits in three of his last four games. While his matchups in the fantasy postseason leave a lot to be desired, Brown still needs to be owned in most leagues right now.

Edelman has been on fire for both the Patriots offense and fantasy owners, catching a combined 18 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns over the last two weeks. The team's leading receiver (no, that's not a misprint), Edelman has become a valued and trusted option in the pass attack for Tom Brady. A better fantasy option than Danny Amendola, the Kent State product should be owned in all leagues -- standard and PPR.

Bell has to be one of the most added and dropped players in fantasy football this season. He was added after a fast statistical start, but was then released back in the free-agent pool when he cooled off during a four-week stretch. He's back in the good graces of owners now, though, as Bell has scored double-digit fantasy points in two of his last three games. Bell is also a solid handcuff for owners with Reggie Bush.

Need a spot start at the tight end position this week? Well, you should see if Cook is still a free agent on the waiver wire. While he's been a disappointment overall, he has had a knack for putting up strong numbers late in the season. It's also hard to ignore what is an absolute dream matchup against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 14. No team in the NFL has allowed more yards, touchdowns or fantasy points to tight ends.

Crabtree returned to NFL action this week, seeing his first game of the season after suffering a torn Achilles tendon back in the spring. While his numbers weren't overly impressive in a win over the St. Louis Rams, Crabtree could end up being an asset in the fantasy postseason -- just look at who he'll face in championship week. That would be the Atlanta Falcons, who have struggled to stop pass catchers.

Streater has become the top option in the pass attack for quarterback Matt McGloin, catching a combined 14 passes with one touchdown over the last three weeks. In the event that Denarius Moore continues to be sidelined with an injured shoulder, Streater would be an even more attractive option against the New York Jets. Their defense has been one of the most vulnerable in the league against opposing wideouts in 2013.

Fantasy owners in PPR leagues should take a look at Sanders, who has started to see more than his share of targets in the absence of Justin Blackmon. At a position that lacks reliable options, owners who need a tight end might want to consider adding and stashing Pitta for the rest of the 2013 campaign. He could be a nice asset if he returns without limits.
