Week 3 Fantasy Waiver Wire
Need to improve your fantasy football roster? NFL.com Fantasy has you covered. Each week, we'll offer up 10 players you need to target off the waiver wire in your ultimate quest to take home a fantasy league championship!

Pierce, one of the best backfield handcuffs in fantasy football, could wind up seeing a far greater role in the offense if Ray Rice's injured hip causes him to miss time. Regardless, Pierce should still be owned in more leagues -- even if it's just as insurance for his veteran teammate. The Ravens have a tough matchup against the Houston Texans next.

The Broncos are using a backfield committee, but I would argue that Moreno is the most trustworthy fantasy option in the mix. A veteran out of Georgia, he's the best pass blocker of the committee and continues to see the most touches. The waiver wire holds few viable runners, so grabbing Moreno (even for depth) is a move well worth making in all leagues.

Bell could turn into a true featured running back in an explosive Lions offense, as Reggie Bush suffered an injured knee in Week 2. If he is forced to miss playing time, Bell will become one of the hottest names on the fantasy waiver wire. Even in a backup role, he's compiled a combined 28.40 fantasy points in his first two games. Bell should now be owned in most formats.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. After posting two touchdown catches in Week 1, the veteran went off for 90 yards and three more touchdowns in a 33-30 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Whether he can sustain this enormous statistical start remains to be seen, but Royal now needs to be owned in all fantasy leagues heading into next week.

With Steven Jackson expected to miss two to four weeks, Rodgers will become a more prominent option in the Atlanta backfield. While he won't be a true featured runner with Jason Snelling also in the mix, Rodgers does have definite flex-starter value and added appeal in PPR formats.

The Patriots' corps of wideouts is loaded with question marks, so much so that Tom Brady has shown little faith in any of them other than Edelman, who's been targeted a ton through two weeks and should continue to see a prominent role. Danny Amendola is in danger of missing several weeks with a sports hernia. Edelman faces Tampa Bay in his next start.

Rookie wideouts don't make a huge fantasy football impact too often, but it's hard to ignore what Hopkins has done in his first two pro starts. He recorded 66 yards in Week 1, followed by a far more impressive 117-yard, one-touchdown explosion against the Tennessee Titans. The Clemson product should be owned in most leagues regardless of the scoring system.

Rivers, left undrafted in countless fantasy football leagues, is now back on the radar after posting two strong stat lines in which he has scored 23-plus fantasy points. While he's not back on an elite level like he was earlier in his pro career, Rivers needs to be owned in the majority of fantasy football leagues as a matchup-based starting option.

Talk about a performance that came out of nowhere. With Eddie Lacy (concussion) injured, Starks made mincemeat of the Washington Redskins with 168 scrimmage yards and one touchdown. While his value is 100 percent dependant on Lacy's health and status for Week 3, Starks now needs to be considered off the waiver wire. He'll face the Cincinnati Bengals next.

The tight end position has become deep all of a sudden, as younger players like Jordan Cameron, Julius Thomas and Bennett have now started to emerge. The 26-year-old has scored three touchdowns, including a pair in this weekend's win over the Minnesota Vikings, and is clearly a very competant and trusted red-zone target for quarterback Jay Cutler.
