It's time to give Cutler some love in fantasy land. After a few mediocre seasons in Chicago, he's been reborn in the stat sheets under new coach Marc Trestman. He's failed to score 17-plus fantasy points just once in six games, and this week's matchup against the Washington Redskins is more than favorable. He's once again in the mix as a legit No. 1 option in most leagues.
No, this isn't 2008 when Jacobs was a top fantasy running back. But with David Wilson and Da'Rel Scott injured, the veteran is now the Giants back to own in all leagues. He showed some flashes of his old self against the Chicago Bears, rushing for 106 yards and two scores last Thursday night. Jacobs has a very nice upcoming matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
Joseph Randle, RB, Dallas Cowboys (0.5 percent owned): The Cowboys lost DeMarco Murray to an injured knee on Sunday night, so Murray's status for Week 7 and beyond is questionable at best. In his absence, the team will look to Randle to shoulder a good portion of the backfield work. The rookie could end up being a viable flex starter against the Philadelphia Eagles, so add Randle now if you need help at the running back spot.
Stacy was on this list last week, but he's still a free agent in a ton of NFL.com leagues. That needs to change, as the rookie runner out of Vanderbilt is now the top option in the Rams' backfield. He has led the team in carries each of the last two weeks and is showing some flashes of being a playmaker. Even if it's for depth purposes, Stacy needs to be picked up.
Stewart is eligible to come off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list in Week 7, so fantasy owners in need of running back depth should look to secure him off the waiver wire. While he will continue to share carries with DeAngelo Williams and Mike Tolbert upon his return, Stewart is still young and talented enough to be considered in most fantasy leagues.
Randle has been on fire over the last two weeks, posting a combined 171 yards, three touchdowns and 35.10 fantasy points. So while the Giants are winless, the LSU product is posting nice numbers for owners. Here's another thing to keep in mind -- the Giants could trade Hakeem Nicks, who is in a contract year, which would open up even more chances for Randle.
I'm not sure if Foles will retain the top spot on the depth chart once Michael Vick is at 100 percent, but he sure looked good against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Next up is a date with the Dallas Cowboys, who entered Week 6 as the most vulnerable team in the league against fantasy quarterbacks. Clearly, this is a situation for all owners to monitor for Week 7.
Harvin (hip surgery) is unlikely to return to the gridiron in Week 7, but now is the time to add him and stash him. He has just started to run and appears poised to beat the timetable of three to four months for his Seahawks debut. Even if he isn't back on the field until mid- to late-November, Harvin could turn into a great option for fantasy owners down the stretch.
Owners who lost fantasy superstar Julio Jones for the season won't be able to replace him with someone off the waiver wire. However, his absence does mean more targets in the pass attack for Douglas. The Falcons are also unsure about the status of Roddy White (ankle, hamstring) for a Week 7 matchup against the Buccaneers, so Douglas is now worth a roster spot.
Kickers are people too, right? In fantasy football, there hasn't been a better one than Crosby. Over his last three games, the veteran has scored a combined 45 fantasy points -- that's more than Chris Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald have scored in that time. If he's still a free agent in your league and you need a kicker, pick up Crosby for the rest of the season.
